The final days before the Olympics are here, and we have chosen Apex for our pre-Olympic training camp.
Our camp has been great so far, with lots of help from the mountain and the local freestyle club. Our course is on ‘Kristi’s Run’, with a 5 mogul lines and lights so that we can simulate the Olympic venue. We are trying to get our bodies and minds adjusted to a night training schedule so that we are well prepared for the Games.
It is such a treat to wake up every morning at my familiar home mountain zone, the snowy wonderland that is Apex. It’s great to have the serenity and the quietness up here. It makes it a lot easier to focus on those last important details.
With all of the necessary tools, my training has been very productive up here. I have access to top of the line video equipment for instant analysis, the best support staff for physio and massage, and of course my amazing coaches Stephen Fearing and Darcy Downs. I can see my Olympic run coming together how I dreamed of skiing it.
We leave for the Olympic village on the 6th. I hear that the village is amazing and I am looking forward to seeing the Olympic team clothing as well!
